Northerners, say hello to Hoop! Families all across Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cumbria, Northumberland, the County of Durham and areas surrounding Manchester and Liverpool are now able to find everything that’s going on for their kids using Hoop. This latest rollout makes Hoop available to a whopping 9 million people and we’re so excited to share all of the interesting activities that we’ve uncovered.

These counties boast an incredible amount of gorgeous green space and can lay claim to four of England’s national parks. With this in mind, we wanted to showcase some of the more unusual events that are hidden away amongst the foliage.

Our first adventure guides you through the skies, the Universe and everything that’s in it. Head to the Kielder Observatory in Northumberland for the chance to observe our galaxy, even during daylight hours! Alternatively, you can whisk the kids away to the North York Moors and experience an open air performance of one of the most famous cautionary tales ever told — The Emperor’s New Clothes.

If you think your family might enjoy a day in the life of the Flintstones, venture west to the Yorkshire Dales and learn how to get creative with stone at the Dale Countryside Museum. Or better yet, keep heading west into the hilly ranges of the Lake District and let your children’s imaginations run wild during Beatrix Potter’s theatre adaptation of Where is Peter Rabbit?.

As always, it’s been a pleasure to help families find things to do and enjoy their next great day out. We’ll soon be bringing Hoop to the Midlands, so families in the area, keep an eye out!

Get in Touch

We’re overjoyed that we’ve made Hoop accessible for over 45 million people in the UK, but we’ve still got plenty to do. Help us decide where Hoop should roll to next by voting for our next area here.

You can download Hoop on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
